So the big day dawned bright and sunny, just perfect for turning five! We got our stuff together and started the day with marbles, a cool sticker pirate book, Dunkin Donuts and then we went on on to the beach!
We all had a blast!

And then after rest time the boys got up, but L's presents had been TAKEN BY PIRATES! Thankfully Jack had been on the watch, and was able to leave clues for us to get them back! Here are some shots of the treasure hunt...
Here was the point of all that running around - L's first bike!
Then the greats came over for a birthday party (the great-grand parents), and we devoured that pirate cake along with a bunch of pasta and salad!

It was a great day, the only downer being that daddy had to be at work so very, very far away! But some of the camp folk were pretty sweet to him, so at least he got some local love! Boy do we miss him!
