more moments

There are few things cuter than watching two people who love each other walking hand in hand...

And I finished another pair of shorties, but I experimented and changed them into bloomers...

family

Books, making stuff, engines and big dogs.
That just about sums up where I came from!

Just a few shots of our little home away from home...

We're having a blast!

quick "little" projects

Pappy is something else. There's an old, hand-me-down trike here, for Micah to play with, but there's no tork to it, so even though he knows what to do, Micah can't ever get it rolling.
So what does his Pappy do? Walks out to the pole barn, we hear some sawing and hammering, and he comes back with a push-bar for his grandson, who is thrilled with it.

(Ahem, this is him not getting anywhere, just before Pappy finished the pushbar)

Yeah. AND THEN Levi questions Pappy about that tree house he's been dreaming of, and Pappy goes back to the pole barn and gathers up a few things. A couple hours later, the boys have your basic, totally cool, crow's nest!

Crazy wonderful, isn't he?

awesome uncle award!

So my brother has been working out west of town lately, and he used his lunch time to show the boys a teeny tiny bit about his work. As in, the giant, massive, up & down part of his job...

Both boys got to climb in and get a look around, and then, their uncle went up solo, to show them just how high he could go, and here's the reaction he got...

Definately one awesome uncle!

road moments

I love road trips! Even two-day, just me and the boys trips! They're allowed to watch dvd's, which is a real treat, and then we stay in a hotel, which is always exciting to kids, and we get to eat a bunch of snack-y, junky food! Serenity drove great, there was more than enough room for everybody, and the daffodil Levi snatched out of our yard for Nana surrived the trip!

And I even found some glow-sticks to bring to the hotel for a surprise!
Have a great day, wherever you are!

need a trim?

So the boys woke up with some interesting bed head (more than the usual, due to it being time for another trim:). I squirted their heads to tone them down just a bit, and look how rediculously cute Micah's hair is, all spiked up!

And then we kind of took the oomph out of both their heads (honestly, I would have left it that way, but wasn't sure what their hair would do when the water dried, and we were headed somewhere).

Where are we going? To see the best hair cutting Nana in the business! The boys are so excited to see their Nana, Pappy, and Uncle Kevin! Happy travels to you, wherever you may be headed today :)

educational fun

So we had a blast making a super easy take-along-flower-press for science. Levi decorated one side with some of the plants we've been studying, and Micah did the back with a red fox in a cave.

And, even as I type this, the boys are sitting together on the couch as Levi reads The Very Hungry Caterpillar to his little brother!
If you're looking to teach your kid to read, I highly reccomend the primer by Jessie Wise, The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading!

my speech graduate

So Levi has graduated from speech therapy! On his last morning, he came bearing the pencil wrap that he helped me stitch, and the card he made for his therapist. He hid them behind his back, until he was able to jump out and surprise her.
I'm so proud of him! He has come such a long way!

outside again!

Oh, joy! The sun was sunny, and the air was just a little chill - perfect for digging, climbing, and jumping!

What? Playground? But I'm digging in the dirt!

Oh, it was so good to be outside again! To stretch our limbs and to dig in the earth. I love spring!

our weekend

Micah's been cooking again. He helped himself to one of my oven mitts, to match his race car mitt. He was quite pleased with himself.

And speaking of being pleased with himself, Levi helped me make a thank you gift for his speech therapist, as he's graduating from speech this week - officially! We made her a pencil wrap, and Levi stitched the sun and one of the clouds on.

I know that's a ton of pictures, but we were having such a good time, and I kept clicking away.
You're looking at the outside of the wrap. After that we put it in the sewing machine and I stitched the pencil pockets in.
