go, Go, GO!

Whenever we go somewhere so Levi can pedal, I try to take Micah's car, so he can cruise too. This time we went to a parking lot a camp, which was cool because we used some of the go-cart cones for them to drive around, and they had a ton of fun with that!

Levi the Crocodile

Oh? Mr. Albert, don't you want to come in for a relaxing float on the tube?

Men.

Oh, wait. Did I forget to mention that that is Mama's tube? Which means I'm going to let you relax just about as much as she gets to... And, here goes Mr. Albert... Crocodile strikes again!

He's such a great sport!

That Crafty Buzz...

I am totally riding on that crafty buzz! The boys asked if I could make them backpacks a while ago. I said sure, after I finished the other projects on my sewing list. So, after I got the shop stocked up, we picked some material together, and then I sat down with the scissors and free-hand cut all the pieces I would need to make fully-lined backpacks. I sat down at the sewing machine and presto! Two backpacks just the right size for my boys!

Course the best part was the way they paraded around the house, wearing their packs. Levi rattled off all the places he thinks his pack should go, which made me feel pretty awesome!

I am so excited, just because they were excited! I love crafting something that they can use a bunch, something they love, and something that comes together quick!

Dinotrux!

The boys loved Dinotrux, by Chris Gall. Really, really loved it. I was surprised that they were fine when it came time to return it to the library. They thumbed through that book, over and over and over! Totally Hammock-Worthy!

scones & books

Mmm... the boys helped me make some scones. Of course I took 3 steps away from the table where we were mixing the dough, and Levi dumped in the remains of my nearly empty jar of Cream of Tartar! We threw out the egg, 1/4 cup honey, and 1 cup of milk that was already in there. I know, I know, a terrible waste, right? But, there were two reasons I dumped it and started over. #1, I think it made a slightly bigger impact on Levi about his mistake (he really wasn't being malicious, just childish), and #2, I think it would have been even worse to guess at how much more tartar I needed and then have the entire recipe wasted, rather than just the first three ingredients. I mean, we're talking about a stick of butter and 4 cups of flour, not to mention how utterly disappointed we'd all be!
So we dumped and started all over, and they turned out delicious. I cut them kinda small, so the boys ate a ton of them (Micah and I had strawberry jam on ours!).

Oops. Opened the box to take this picture and the smell got to me. I ended up eating another one!
And look what we found at a yard sale? I know the old Childcraft books are way outdated in some of their info, but boy, was I excited! We had a set of these growing up, and I went threw my favorites over and over and over. I can still recite the poem in Vol. 3, Page 66, that I had to memorize in the fourth grade! And the coolest thing? Both of the boys are just thumbing through them, totally loving the pictures and drawings they find, just like I did!

Another Camp Season...

Wow. First off, just let me say that I did not take the bus picture - one of the guys working with Paul this summer took it. Great, isn't it? Can you believe Paul takes care of 40 of these now? He has just finished another camp season. Oh sure, there's still tons of work to be done, but Friday was the last day with campers. I am so proud of him! He is very good at what he does, and by jingo (to quote a book I'm reading), that man does a lot!

Thank you for working so hard to take care of us, and for giving your best to what God has called you to! We love you Daddy!

Trains

The trains, the trains! I love trains. They are really exciting for about two days. Micah played with them for hours, begging me not to leave the house and interupt his train conducting (without success). Course, after that second day, they tend to become a big, sprawling mass of stuff on the floor that gets played with less and less, until it ends up back in its box in the garage... But until then, we have trains!

Photo Shoot!

Oh my gosh, we had so much fun early in the morning! We used the great light to have a photo shoot with the dollies that are going into the shop today! Here are some pictures of our fun...That last one's great, ain't it?

Hope you have a chance to check out the new shop!

Micah's Latest Discovery...

Micah has discovered reverse polarity! He stood at the fridge for the longest time, trying to force those two magnets together. He was really intrigued (and simultaneously confused).

"Huh?" (a high-pitched,confused sound, of course)

Here he is, showing off his discovery! We both had a really good laugh!

Summer on our Path

I thought it would be fun to take some photos of the path we go to. I push the kids in the stroller up and down the hills and we look for nature stuff. The pictures will be cool when the weather changes, because then we'll be able to see how much our little path has changed!
